Wikipedia: "While at a classmate's party, Virtanen played the song "Rude
Boy" (written by Swedish artist Leila K) four times. This earned him the
nickname "Rude Boy," which gradually morphed into "Da Rude", which in
turn inspired the name "Darude."[citation needed]"

Is it Ca-role, Ca-roll, or Ca-roo-le? And why isn't "phonetics" written
the way it's pronounced?

;-)

Who's not into Da Rude
P.S. Yeah, I guess there's really no way to make this on-topic

Thanks, Markus :-) I really love "Sandstorm" and just made a ringtone
out of it for my new cellphone that I'm bringing to the UK :)

And it's Carole, like Christmas Carol :) And if we wrote the way we
pronounced, we'd have fonz instead of phones :)

Internationally it's supposed to be pronounced "Da Rude" I guess, but
we Finns don't pronounce it that way. We just pronounce it as we see
it's spelled, which makes it Duh-roo-de (with a short vowel on roo and
de as in Spanish). So Da-roo-day was pretty close.

The question was, after all, how do *you* pronounce it. ;)
