Hi!
Again, after a long absence...
I don't know if the old members of this group remember, but there was
once a thread of what would you like MO to do. I then wrote, that I'd
like to hear Taurus as one piece. Taurus I, QE2, Taurus II and
Orabidoo somehow put together.
Well, I remembered that thought tonight and listened QE2 and Five
Miles Out with that thought in mind. I put some of the themes of QE2
to notes to help analyzing the possibility of combining them and
noticed something I hadn't noticed before.
The beginning of Taurus I is obvious, it's Deep Deep Sound, as is the
relation of the endings of Taurus I and QE2. That wasn't new.
What I discovered was the relation of the African drums section in
Taurus I and the beginning of QE2. Also, the second theme in Taurus I
(the slow synth pipe part) is repeated in the bagpipe sections of QE2.
Sorry if this is old news and plain obvious to you. I just got a
little kick out of noticing that. After all these years. Even the old
albums can still give you something. :)
Next: I probably should search Taurus II for any less obvious
connections.
